Alice Walton Is Getting Art Out of Storage and Into the World

Today the Alice L. Walton Foundation and Cleveland Clinic announced a joint initiative to identify ways of providing access to Cleveland Clinic’s renowned specialty care services in Northwest Arkansas.

In light of recent legislation passed in the state of Arkansas that targets the LGBTQ+ community, I share my concerns, and offer a message of welcome and belonging.

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art revealed plans for an expansion that will increase the size of the current facilities by 50 percent. Adding nearly 100,000 square feet to the 200,000-square-foot facility, the expansion will allow the museum to showcase its growing collection and welcome more visitors to experience the power of art, in an inclusive environment. The Black Teacher Pipeline fosters future Black educators by engaging Black high school and college students as teacher pre-apprentices, sponsoring them through fellowship, apprenticeships, and scholarship, and supporting them with mentorship and professional learning opportunities through their first four years in the classroom. Alice Walton’s philanthropic support builds on her commitment to improve K-12 education, support teachers and eliminate barriers for People of Color who want to become teachers.
