Honoring Excellence, Announcing New Members: Academy 2025 Election

Today the Alice L. Walton Foundation and Cleveland Clinic announced a joint initiative to identify ways of providing access to Cleveland Clinic’s renowned specialty care services in Northwest Arkansas.

Following an announcement of $350M commitment to improving access to specialty care in Northwest Arkansas, the Foundation develops plans for a health care center of excellence.
In a news release published on April 23, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences named Alice Walton as a newly elected member of its 2025 cohort.
As the release states, “Since 1780, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences has honored excellence and convened leaders from across disciplines and divides to examine new ideas, address issues of importance, and work together “to advance the interest, honor, dignity, and happiness of a free, independent, and virtuous people.”

Walton was noted for her philanthropic leadership, including Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, and will be inducted into the Academy in October.
